Privacy policy
Effective date: 3 September 2026. Applies to the Android app
Vacation Mode (io.remnet.vacationmode) by RemNet.
In short: Vacation Mode collects no data, shares no data and has no internet access. Everything the app knows stays on your phone.
1. No data collection
Vacation Mode does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. The app
contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash reporting and no user
accounts. The app does not request the INTERNET permission, so it is
technically incapable of sending data anywhere.
2. Data stored on your device
To do its job, the app stores a small amount of information on your phone, and only there:
- Your settings. Which apps you chose to keep, the call exceptions, the borrow duration and your background choice.
- A snapshot of your Do Not Disturb configuration. Taken when a vacation starts and used only to restore your own settings when it ends.
- A copy of your background photo. If you pick a photo for the vacation screen, a downscaled copy is written to the app's private storage so it still works after a restart. It is never uploaded.
- Recently declined phone numbers. Kept for at most 60 minutes, only so a repeat caller (someone calling twice within 15 minutes) can ring through. These numbers are deleted automatically and are never shown, kept long term or transmitted.
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of the above.
3. Permissions the app uses, and why

| Contacts (optional) | Only used if you turn on "favourite contacts may call". When a call comes in, the app checks on the device whether the caller is one of your starred contacts. Your contacts are never stored, copied or transmitted. |
| Photo picker (optional) | Only used when you pick a background photo yourself. The app receives that one image and no access to the rest of your gallery. |
| Installed app list | To show the picker of apps you can keep or borrow. The list never leaves your device. |
4. Children
Vacation Mode is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no data, no children's data is collected either.
5. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes any of the above, this page is updated before that version is released, with a new effective date.
