Terms of service
Effective date: 4 September 2026. Between you and RemNet,
Netherlands, for the MyMafia app (com.mymafia.app) and the game service
at api.mymafia.app.
In short: it is a free game with no real-money payments. Play it, do not cheat it, do not abuse other players, and do not treat in-game money as though it were real. You can leave whenever you like and take your data with you.
1. The game, and what it is not
MyMafia is a free multiplayer game with a crime theme, in the tradition of Dutch browser games like MaffiaBaas and MijnMaffia. It is fiction. Nothing in it endorses or encourages anything illegal.
The game contains simulated gambling: slot machines, blackjack, roulette and a higher-or-lower card game. These are played entirely with in-game currency. There is no way to buy that currency, and no way to convert it into money, goods or anything else of value. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising. Nothing in MyMafia costs money, so nothing in MyMafia can be lost in the sense that matters.
2. Who may play
You must be 16 or older. The theme and the simulated gambling make it unsuitable for children, and 16 is also the age at which you can agree to this yourself under Dutch law. One person, one account: extra accounts created to feed a main account are the definition of cheating here and are dealt with under section 4.
3. Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and we will treat actions taken with your credentials as yours. If you think someone else has access, change your password, which signs every other session out, and tell us.
You may connect a Google account to sign in more easily. You may disconnect it again, as long as you have a password, so that you are never left without a way in.
4. Fair play
The server decides every outcome; the app only asks. That is deliberate, and it means most cheating attempts simply fail. The following will get an account suspended or removed:
- Modifying the app, or sending crafted requests, to obtain results the game did not give you.
- Exploiting a bug for gain rather than reporting it. Report it and we will thank you; farm it and we will reverse it.
- Running several accounts to transfer resources to one of them.
- Automating play with scripts or bots.
- Harassing, threatening or abusing other players, in any name, family tag or message the game lets you write.
- Attacking the service itself, or trying to reach parts of it that are not yours.
Every movement of in-game currency is recorded, so where something was gained unfairly we can usually reverse exactly that and leave the rest of your progress alone. That is what we would rather do than delete an account.
5. In-game items and currency
Money, respect, bullets, properties, vehicles and everything else in the game are part of the game, not property. They have no monetary value, cannot be sold, and are not transferable outside the mechanics the game provides. Selling or buying accounts or in-game items for real money is not allowed, and we will remove accounts involved in it.
Balance changes. Rewards, prices and formulas will be adjusted as the game develops, and that may affect the value of what you have accumulated. We will not do it capriciously, but we do not guarantee that any number stays where it is.
6. Availability
This is a small, self-funded game run on a single server by one studio. We try to keep it up and we will say so when it is not. It is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime, and it may change or stop. If we ever shut it down we will give notice and an opportunity to export your data first.
7. Ending it
You can stop at any time. Uninstalling removes the app; to erase the account and everything in it, see deleting your account.
We may suspend or remove an account for a breach of section 4. Where it is proportionate we will warn first, and we will tell you the reason unless doing so would defeat the point.
8. Liability
MyMafia is free, and it is a game. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for lost progress, lost in-game items, or any indirect loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law, including for intent or gross negligence, nor does it affect your statutory consumer rights.
9. Privacy
What we store and why is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Changes
If these terms change materially we will update the effective date and say so in the app. Continuing to play after that means you accept the change; if you do not, delete your account.
11. Law and contact
Dutch law applies, and the courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of your own country's law.
