Delete your account
Applies to the MyMafia app (com.mymafia.app) and the
game service at api.mymafia.app, operated by RemNet, Netherlands.
In short: email support@remnet.io from the address on your account, or use the button in the app under Profile → Account → Request account deletion. Everything is erased within 30 days, usually within a few days. You do not need to give a reason.
From inside the app
Open Profile, scroll to the Account card, and tap Request account deletion. The app opens an email addressed to us with your username already filled in, so we can find the right account. Send it and you are done.
By email
Email support@remnet.io with the subject MyMafia account deletion request. Please send it from the email address registered to the account, or tell us the username, so we can be sure we are deleting the right person's account and not somebody else's.
What gets deleted
All of it. Specifically:
- Your username, email address and password hash.
- Your linked Google identity, if you had connected one.
- Your player: display name, level, experience, money, reputation, inventory, properties, vehicles and family membership.
- Your history: crimes, fights, casino rounds, jobs, and the in-game currency record.
- Your notification tokens, so your device stops receiving anything.
- Your sign-in sessions, which stops working immediately.
What may remain briefly, and why
Two things outlive the deletion by a short while, and neither identifies you to another player:
- Server logs containing the IP addresses of requests. These roll away on their own within days. They are kept only to keep the service available and to investigate abuse.
- Encrypted backups. If a backup was taken before your deletion, your data disappears from the backup set as that backup ages out. Backups are never used to restore an individual account.
Where other players' records mention an interaction with you, for example a fight you were part of, your name is removed from it. The event itself stays, because it also belongs to the other player's history.
How long it takes
We aim to do it within a few days and we are required to do it within 30 days. You will get a reply confirming it is done. If you change your mind, tell us before we process it, because afterwards there is nothing left to restore.
Deleting without losing the game
If what you actually want is to stop playing rather than to erase your data, you can simply uninstall the app, or sign out and turn off notifications. Nothing further is sent to your device. Your account stays as it is until you ask us to remove it.
